Larry Fabian has been invited to speak at a rail transport conference
in Morocco in
Noverrmber. Interest in public transportation development
in the French-, Arabic- and Berger-speaking North Africa is intense.

Plans are underway for a groundbreaking conference in San Jose, October 27-29. It
will be the 4th of the cutting edge Podcar Cities conference
initiated
by
Stockholm's
Institute for Sustainable Transportation.

The Morgantown (WV) PRT has a $93-million master plan to
upgrade its hardware, software and civil work for several more decades
of service. It is the only operating robust PRT system, albeit with
20-passenger vehicles.

A small booklet will soon go to press as a companion to the upgraded
APM Guide Online. Entitled Smart
Urban Mobility, it will appeal to project planners looking for

ATRA organized a day conference on Modern Mobility April 23
outside Kansas City. Results of a study for the Legends district were
presented. Fabian gave an overview of today's PRT prospects.

Fabian was part of an Urban Planning Advisory Team for historic Cuenca,
Spain in early April. The UPAT was organized by the
International Society of City & Regional Planners, and explored
ways to enhance its medieval core to relate it to a new rail station.
